Building the first gallery wall

Maximal is built on one unfashionable belief: a single tasteful print on a big empty wall is a wasted opportunity. So everything here is designed to be grouped. Matisse-style cut-outs in terracotta and coral, dancing figures reduced to two colours, baroque florals with plum dahlias and trailing ivy — all sharing a palette warm enough that pieces from different series still agree with each other. The practical advice: pick an odd number, mix one bold piece with two calmer ones, and keep the frames identical so the colour does the talking. Three prints in a row above a sofa is the easiest version. Seven up a stairwell is the ambitious one. Everything is printed to order, so a set arrives in matching sizes. Three below to start the wall: dancing figures, a baroque bouquet, and a terracotta cut-out. More is more.
